According to several law enforcement agencies, a car chase that started in Lamar County ended on Watson Boulevard in Houston County.
Tabitha Pugh with the Warner Robins Police Department says their agency controlled traffic on Watson Boulevard, after the chase ended in a crash at Galleria Mall Drive.
Pugh says Watson is blocked from Margie Drive to South Houston Lake Drive. She said they arrived on the scene about 10:30 a.m.
According to the WRPD Twitter account, the scene has been cleared and Watson is open again.
The chase came through Lamar, Monroe, Bibb, Peach and Houston Counties. The suspect driving a Dodge took the Watson Boulevard exit off 1-75 south in Peach County and continued down Watson.
Sergeant Mike Maynard with the Perry Georgia State Patrol Post said after he crashed into two other vehicles, the suspect ran from police on foot.
Maynard said the man was captured, and is now being treated for his injuries. He said charges are pending.
Maynard said one other driver was injured in the crash. He said she is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
He did not know why the driver orginally sped away from a Lamar County deputy.
