Warner Robins Intersection Closed Due to Accident

 

WARNER ROBINS, GA.--The intersection of Carl Vinson Parkway and Leverette Road is closed due to a motor vehicle collision with injuries. 

That's according to Warner Robins Police Department spokesperson Tabitha Pugh.

Traffic is being rerouted in the surrounding residential neighborhoods. 

The traffic collision was called into 911 at 9:27 A.M.

No other details are available at this time.

SR 96 Resurfacing Continues

SR 96 Resurfacing Continues

The Georgia Department of Transportation announces that work on the project to resurface a 12 mile section of SR 96 in Twiggs County began Tuesday, February 7, a news release says.

This project will resurface 12.3 miles of SR 96 beginning at the Houston/Twiggs County line and continuing through the City of Tarversville to north of Cranberry Lane.

Dykes Grassing Company from Cochran, GA was the low bidder at $2,057,437.39. The current completion date is estimated for October 31, 2012.

There are no time restrictions for this project. A majority of the work will be performed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. with occasional weekend work. A pilot vehicle will be utilized to assist motorists driving through the work zone.

A single lane closure will be utilized for this work.

Motorists should reduce their speed in this and all work zones.

WARNER ROBINS, GA. -- The Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins now has an iPhone app. It's available immediately for free in the Apple App Store. 

The app lets users to listen to audio information for 20 of the museum's more than 90 aircraft exhibits, and to explore additional information using Wikipedia and Youtube links.

"We wanted an app that could provide an exciting and informative audio experience for our visitors here at the museum as well as wet the appetites of iPhone users who may not have had the chance to visit us yet," Director of Marketing Bob Dubiel said.

Dubiel says the new iPhone app is like "a digital coffee table book for the museum."

Warner Robins, GA --  The Museum of Aviation’s exhibit Tuskegee Airmen: A Proud Heritage has won the Georgia Association of Museums and Galleries (GAMG) Museum Exhibition of the Year Award in Category 2 (under $100,000).  The award was presented today, January 20, at the GAMG Conference in Milledgeville, Georgia --  coincidentally the same day that the much publicized “Red Tails” Tuskegee Airmen movie is premiering in theaters nationwide.
