WRMS Student Selected for National All-Star Bowl

 

HOUSTON COUNTY, GA –Warner Robins Middle School eighth-grader Justin "BJ" Fambro was named an Offense-Defense All-American and invited to participate in the 2012-2013 Offense-Defense Bowl Week for the fourth year in a row.  The events will take place Dec. 26, 2012, through Jan. 1, 2013, at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.

While attending the Offense-Defense Football Camp this summer, Justin was selected among thousands of youth athletes across the country competing all summer for the right to be named an Offense-Defense All-American receiving the defensive MVP award as a defensive back.  He will play two games on the Youth All-American Bowl team going head-to-head with fellow All-Americans in his age group in a celebration of the best-of-the-best of the game of football. Past Offense-Defense Football Camp awards include Offensive MVP and Player of the Week.

WRRD Sectional Punt, Pass & Kick Competition

The Warner Robins Recreation Department hosts a Sectional Punt, Pass & Kick competition on Sunday, October 28th at Perkins Field at 1 p.m.

The participants will be winners from eleven local competition sites from south and west Georgia. The participants will be boys and girls ages six through fifteen.

The results from this sectional will be compared with the results from other sectionals to determine the winners. The winners will advance to the championship which will compete at a future Atlanta Falcons home game.

Everyone is invited to come out and support the participants in this event.

Car, Truck, Motorcycle Show Features Batmobile And 268 Show Cars

 

Warner Robins, GA – A replica of one of the iconic Batmobiles was one of more than 268 vehicles that competed for a trophy at the 20th Annual Wings and Wheels Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show at the Museum of Aviation on Saturday, October 13, 2012. It was good enough for one of the114 total trophies presented at the show. The day-long event put on by the Museum of Aviation Foundation drew nearly 5,000 spectators marking it the largest public–attended event at the Museum each year.

WARNER ROBINS, GA- Entry applications are now available for the 55th Annual Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade.  Themed “The 12 Days of Christmas,” this year’s parade will spotlight the many aspects of the season.  The parade will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012 with a 10:00 a.m. start at the intersection of Houston Road and Watson Blvd.

Houston County, GA – Huntington Middle School student Jaylen Lowder was named an Offense-Defense All-American and invited to participate in the 2012-2013 Offense-Defense Bowl Week.  The festivities will take place Dec. 26 through Jan1at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.  Jaylen was selected while attending the Offense-Defense Football Camp this summer. 

Jaylen will play linebacker in an inaugural O-D Can/Am Games in which two All-American teams will play two All-Canada teams.  Jaylen was selected for this honor from a group of young athletes numbering in the thousands across the country.  He represented his school and town well, “easily validating the Bowl Selection Committee’s choice in tabbing Jaylen Lowder for the All-Star tilt,” according to a news release.
