Houston County Board of Education to be Featured at  Chamber’s August Eggs & Issues Breakfast

WARNER ROBINS, GA- Houston County Board of Education Superintendent Dr. Robins Hines and other members of the Board of Education will discuss issues of educational concern, including the previous and current school years at the next Eggs & Issues Breakfast of the Robins Regional Chamber.  The event will be Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. in Hangar One at the Museum of Aviation.

Sponsored by Virginia College, the breakfasts are designed to keep community members abreast of regional issues and are one of five in a series that the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce holds throughout the year.  The program features a presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.

Warner Robins Mayor, Two Council Members Receive Recognition

Free Adult Computer Classes

Free Adult Computer Classes

The Houston County Board of Education (HCBOE) will offer basic computer classes free of charge to adults again this coming school year.  The classes are taught by employee and student volunteers. 

Seven sessions of two classes each will be offered at seven different schools.  Classes will begin on the following dates:  Aug. 19, Sept. 9, Sept. 23, Oct. 14, Oct. 28, Jan 13 and Feb. 3.  The training is from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday evenings. 

Each site will accept a maximum of 56 participants with the exception of the Crossroads Center which is limited to 22 participants.  The schedule follows.

I-75 Southbound Lane to Close for Overnight Roadwork

Crews need to close an I-75 southbound lane overnight this week.

That's in Dooly and Houston Counties between mile markers 127 and 117 from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. night Monday through Friday, June 21, according to a GDOT news release.
