Chamber to Host Mayoral Forum for Warner Robins Candidates

WARNER ROBINS, GA- The Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased host the 2013 Mayoral Forum for the City of Warner Robins.  The event will be held on Tuesday, September 10th from 6-7p.m. in the auditorium at the Warner Robins Campus of Central Georgia Technical College, located at 80 Cohen Walker Drive.

This event is designed to be an official platform in which the candidates vying for the seat as Mayor of Warner Robins can present their official platform as well as discuss issues of city-wide concern.  The program will feature brief remarks from candidates, followed by a moderated question-and-answer session.  

“We feel that it is an important opportunity for constituents to hear from the candidates,” said Chamber President, Morgan Law.  “We look forward to hearing about their plans, particularly as it relates to the Robins Region’s business community.”

WARNER ROBINS, GA- The Robins Regional Chamber’s Business of the Month Committee presented Marie Gates, server at The Hilton Garden Inn’s Great American Grill with the Outstanding Employee Award for May 2013.  The award presentation is sponsored by Spherion Staffing Services of Middle Georgia.

“Marie is an excellent example of great customer service,” said customer, Marie Munson.  “We have a group of ladies that meet once a month to go out and eat; normally a different restaurant each month.  After eating at the Great American Grill our group has chosen to return to the Hilton for 5 months in a row.”

WARNER ROBINS, GA- The 2nd Annual Chamber Week (May 13-17), hosted by the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce was a huge success.  The week featured an array of the Chamber’s signature events and kicked off with a bang! For the second year in a row, all three mayors from the Robins Region- Warner Robins Mayor, Chuck Shaheen; Centerville Mayor, John Harley; and Perry Mayor, Jimmy Faircloth, as well as Houston County Commission Chairman Tommy Stalnaker- gave an official proclamation for the 2013 Chamber Week on Monday.

Chamber Hosts Ribbon Cutting for Family Promise of Greater Houston County

WARNER ROBINS, GA- The Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting and grand opening for Family Promise of Houston County.

Located at 213 McArthur Boulevard in Warner Robins, Family Promise is a nonprofit 501(c) (3), non-denominational organization for families in transition and is part of a national organization founded in 1986. The Family Promise Network Program provides shelter, meals and support services to families without homes through a network of local congregations.

Senior Leaders at Robins AFB Enjoy Repeat Win at the 2nd Annual Robins Cup Golf Tournament

Warner Robins, GA- Col. Mitchel Butikofer and senior leaders from Robins Air Force Base united with community leaders from throughout the Robins Region to win it all in a very close match during the 2nd Annual Robins Cup Golf Tournament.

Sponsored by the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee, State Bank & Trust Company and Lowe Toyota, the event’s purpose was for leaders to have a day of fun while appreciating and further enhancing the already great relationship between Robins Air Force Base and the local community.

The event matched Col. Mitchel Butikofer and 35 senior Robins AFB leaders with 36 community leaders who competed in an 18 hole, two person scramble, match play event.  Both Robins AFB and community leaders alike thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to network and strengthen ties during the event.  Major General Bob McMahon, USAF retired, led the Community Team.

Girl Scout Alumnae Reunion in Central Georgia

The Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia will hold a reunion on May 4 from 1-6 pm at Camp Martha Johnson in Lizella.  Alumnae will enjoy revisiting camp, renewing friendships, and helping to create a digital archive, according to a news release. 

The event is free. Donations for camp upkeep will be accepted.

Mike Wallis Named As Vice President of Technology and Communications at Flint Energies

REYNOLDS/WARNER ROBINS/PERRY/UPATOI – Effective May 1, Mike Wallis will take on new duties as the Vice-President of Technology & Communications at Flint Energies. Wallis has 35 years of experience in electronics and communications technology, 24 of them at Flint Energies.

Wallis will become the 5th member of the Executive Team, reporting directly to CEO Bob Ray. Flint evaluated applications from eight candidates and conducted interviews with four finalists.

“Wallis has experience in technology-focused leadership in cooperative-altering projects, forums for strategic thinking, and raising day-to-day service standards for members and employees,” said Ray. “Mike is well prepared with professional talent and a Flint perspective to lead this critical endeavor for Flint’s current and future service to members.”
