Robins Regional Chamber Planning for 6th Annual Middle Georgia Regional Political HobNob

WARNER ROBINS, GA- The Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased announce that the 6th Annual Middle Georgia Regional Political HobNob is approaching.  The event will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Central Georgia Technical College’s Warner Robins Campus.  

This event is designed to be an old fashioned political rally with hundreds to attend.  The purpose of HobNob is to give Chamber members and others in the community an opportunity to meet with candidates and representatives from their campaigns on a one-to-one basis.  The Chamber has invited all candidates appearing on the 2013 ballots, including the candidates appearing on all municipal ballots throughout the Robins Region, as well as announced candidates for the U.S. Senate race in 2014.  

During the event, the Chamber plans to conduct a “straw poll” (with computers) on key issues for the region.

Chamber Hosts Ribbon Cutting for Gentiva Hospice

WARNER ROBINS, GA- The Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a Ribbon Cutting for Gentiva Hospice, located at 319 Margie Drive in Warner Robins.

VistaCare Hospice, which has been serving the Warner Robins community for the past fifteen years, has changed its name to Gentiva Hospice.   As a member of the Gentiva home health and hospice family of companies since May 24, 2010, according to the company, the name change now more truly reflects the relationship and resources of being a part of a national leader in hospice care.

“As America’s home health and hospice leader, the Gentiva family of companies has been bringing great healthcare home for four decades,” said Jan Miller, Area VP of Operations.  “Our care is defined by our clinical expertise and the compassion we deliver to 80,000 patients a day – one patient at a time.”

WARNER ROBINS, GA- The Robins Regional Chamber’s Business of the Month Committee presented William “Trey” Ervin, a Universal Home Tech with Cox Communications with the Outstanding Employee Award for July 2013.  Potential winner must be employed by a member of the Robins Regional Chamber, offers quality customer service and is dedicated to his employer.  The award presentation is sponsored by Spherion Staffing Services of Middle Georgia.

“Our cable box died on a Sunday morning the horror!  We had no TV for 2 whole days,” a customer wrote.  “Mr. Ervin arrived on time to set the stage for a great experience.”

The customer explained that Ervin proceeded to very patiently work with her parents to resolve the dilemma.

“He was so patient and kind that they were completely satisfied with his service and the overall experience.”

Moe's Southwest Grill plans to salute police and fire forces with a free meal this week.

If you are in either department, you can show your badge or employment ID to receive your free meal on July 3 and 4.

The free meal will be offered at the Warner Robins location, 2628 Watson Blvd.

WARNER ROBINS, GA- The Robins Regional Chamber’s Business of the Month Committee presented Helen Sopha, Jr. Loan Processor & Receptionist for Iberia Bank Mortgage with the Outstanding Employee Award for June 2013.  The award presentation is sponsored by Spherion Staffing Services of Middle Georgia.

“Helen is one of the most loyal employees in our office,” said Debbie Jernigan, VP Mortgage Manager.  “She is a very dependable, talented and committed employee.”

Jernigan says that customers constantly comment on Helen’s pleasant attitude and friendliness.  “She is always willing to help wherever needed,” continued Jernigan.  “Multi-tasking is one of her strongest assets.”

Robins Regional Chamber Donates Funds to  21st Century Partnership

WARNER ROBINS, GA- the Robins Regional Chamber presented the 21st Century Partnership with a donation check in order to aid in the furtherance of its mission.

The Chamber will make a three-year, $75,000 pledge to assist the 21st Century Partnership with the completion of a series of studies that analyze the community's ability to secure new missions at Robins AFB, as well as the preparedness for a possible BRAC review. These results will enable community leaders to address identified deficiencies and devise a plan to overcome them. Additionally, the information gathered through these studies may be utilized by the Houston County Economic Development team as they work to enhance the region’s appeal to new industrial projects.

Mercer University Cheerleaders to Host Camp for Kids

The Mercer University Cheerleaders will hold a camp for children ages 5-14 July 8-12 and July 15-19.  The camp will be held at the Macon campus.  Times are are noon to 5 pm.  Cost is $120 per session and includes a T-shirt.

Checks, made payable to Mercer University Cheerleading, should be sent to 1400 Coleman Ave, Macon, GA 31027 (Attn: Mercer Cheerleading) along with waiver/registration form.
