Robins Federal Announces "Be A Star" and "Savings Challenge" Winners

Robins Federal Credit Union recently announced the winners of two youth contests.

Tiffany Gibbs of Kathleen is the winner of the My Money My Way® “Be A Star” contest. She will be rewarded with a $100.00 deposit in her account and a chance to be featured in an upcoming advertisement for Robins Federal Credit Union’s My Money My Way® accounts.

Contestants were asked to describe how Robins Federal Credit Union’s My Money My Way® accounts have assisted them in life. The contest was for youth ages 16 to 24.

Gibb’s entry described her financial journey with Robins Federal Credit Union, from her first checking account as a teenager to the loan she used to purchase her first car. She is now using a My Money My Way® savings account to save for her wedding.

Georgia Chamber Honor Roll Recognizes Senator Staton


State Senator Cecil Staton (R- Macon) has received the highest possible ranking on the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Honor Roll.

That's according to a Senate Press Office news release.

The Chamber's Honor Roll recognizes legislators who were most supportive of the business community during the 2011 Legislative Session. Staton was one of nine legislators out of the 236-member General Assembly to receive an A+.


402nd Maintenance Wing Change of Command


Col. Evan Miller will assume command of the largest wing on Robins -- the 402nd Maintenance Wing - in a ceremony Wednesday.

Miller is currently vice commander of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla.

He will take the reins of the wing from Brig. Gen. Lee Levy, who has commanded the unit for two years. 

Levy's next assignment will be Director of Logistics at Air Mobility Command, which is headquartered at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.

Keep Warner Robins Beautiful sponsored a Senior Citizen Flower Show for members of the Senior Citizens Social Club to celebrate Keep America's Beautiful's Great American Cleanup.


Nationally Accredited Master Flower Show Judges were Dora Etheridge, Beanie Harrell and Elaine Privette, a Keep Warner Robins Beautiful news release says.

Warner Robins Senior Citizens Social Club members entered flowers in various categories: Cut Specimen (flowering or foliage), Container Grown Plants, and Floral Arrangements. 

In the Cut Specimen category first was awarded to Frances Roland, second place went to Betty Hewitt and third place was Agnes Partlow. 

In the Container Grown Plant category first place was awarded to Jim Tye, second place to Connie Engen and third place Darlene Zion.  I

"Economic Impact of Robins Air Force Base on the Robins Region”

Economic Impact of Robins Air Force Base is the topic of the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce’s June Business Forum; to be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 12:00 noon at the Chamber of Commerce.


This month’s forum will highlight the Economic Impact of Robins Air Force Base & What it Means To You.  Guest speaker will be Kim L. Lynn, Director of Plans and Programs, Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins AFB.  Lynn’s office serves as the Center Commander’s “action officer” for providing mission planning to include new mission development, depot maintenance partnering, development and deployment of common Center-wide strategic focus areas, expert acquisition and sustainment process knowledge, transformation and change management, intelligence support to the Center and associate units, and other special projects.


Gov. Launches Design Contest for New Car Tags


Gov. Nathan Deal announced today that the Department of Revenue will host a contest to design for a new Georgia license plate.

The design contest will begin on Monday, May 23. The deadline is Friday, June 17. 

Individuals are asked to submit original artwork. Any Georgian citizen or business authorized to do business in the state of Georgia is welcome to enter the contest.

The public will be given a chance to choose three semi-finalists through an online vote from June 24-July 8. After the online voting, the three semi-finalists will be presented to Gov. Deal.

He will then announce the winning design on July 15.
