Carrie Irene Johnson Wheeler

Carrie Irene Johnson Wheeler, age 91, passed away on February 24, 2013 at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon. A Memorial service will be held at Hart’s Mortuary, Cherry Street on February 27, 2013 at 12:00PM, with The Reverends Jody and Julie Long officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, North Gate. Ms. Wheeler was born on April 12, 1921 in Sparta, Georgia and graduated from Sparta High School in 1939. She moved to Macon in 1947 where she was employed at Robins AFB in what was then the Directorate of Procurement. Ms. Wheeler was a member of the First Baptist Church of Christ and the Believer’s Sunday School Class. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, crafts, gardening, and shopping. She was an avid bridge player and a regular follower of Atlanta Braves baseball. Ms.

Jim Braxton 1943-2012

Jim Braxton, age 69, of 268 Faver Road Vienna, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Flint River Memory Care in Macon.

Born in Greenville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late James T. Braxton, Jr. and Luna Mae Edwards Braxton. Jim graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Wilmington College where he played baseball and basketball. He was a professional baseball player, businessman, and farmer.

Freeman Stokes

Freeman Stokes, 78, entered into rest on Friday, October 5, 2012.

Mr. Stokes was born on September 3, 1934 in Wrightsville, Georgia. Having studied real estate courses at the University of Georgia, he became a broker and was very successful in the real estate industry proving to be instrumental as a builder, developer and realtor. He was also a former manager of the Houston county fair. Assembly at Warner Robins was his church home.

Wiley G. McDaniel

Wiley G. McDaniel, 73, entered into rest on Thursday, October 4, 2012.

W.G. was born on January 31, 1939 in Rentz, Georgia to the late James Caris McDaniel and Emma Lou Passmore McDaniel. He owned and operated McDaniel Cabinet Company for fifty years. W.G.

MSgt. Glenn McGee, USAF (Ret.)

Glenn McGee, 79, entered into rest on Saturday, October 6, 2012.

Mr. McGee was born on March 3, 1933 in Gainesville, Georgia. He retired from the United States Air Force with the rank of Master Sergeant having served in the Korean conflict. He then, after working for several years, retired from the Perry Hospital. As a longtime member of Central Baptist Church, he served as deacon and was very active in the Singles ministry, most recently with the New Beginnings Sunday School Class.

Angela Smith Stake

Angela Smith Stake, 57, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 2, 2012.

Angela was born on December 18, 1954 in Athens, Georgia. She was a true animal lover and treated her dog, Maggie, like her daughter. Angela was an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed spending time drinking hot tea on the back porch and watching birds.
