Bond Denied for Accused Houston County Child Molester | News
Bond was denied Thursday morning for an accused child molester in Houston County.
District Attorney George Hartwig says Matthew Caleb Pierce had a hearing Thursday.
Hartwig says he argued in court that Pierce was a threat to intimidate witnesses and could possibly commit more crimes.
A judge agreed to keep Pierce in the Houston County jail without bond.
The jail's website says Pierce faces one count of child molestation, two counts of aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, two counts of sexual battery and violation of probation state court.
Hartwig says he expects there will be more charges.
Pierce runs a Centerville hair salon, but the sheriff's department says there is no indication any of the victims are connected to the business.
