Kid Friendly Veggie Spaghetti Sauce
Sauté finely chopped onion in neutral tasting oil in Dutch oven or 6 qt pot
Add crushed garlic (if desired), sauté 30 seconds.
1 can/jar favorite spaghetti sauce
1 Tbsp dried Italian seasoning blend
1 bag defrosted frozen vegetable blend (blend in blender if children need fooling)
Cook slowly over med-low heat 10 minutes to let flavors blend.
Serve over short pasta (Rotini, macaroni, ziti, etc) so it can be eaten with a spoon.
As children learn to eat this flavorful blend, increase flavors slowly by adding more Italian seasonings or more garlic or bell pepper.
Between the tomato sauce and vegetables, this will help children get close to a full day's requirement of veggies all by itself.
