He first burst on the scene as an 11 year old slugger for the Warner Robins American Little League All Stars. In that same year of 2007, he hit the game winning, extra inning solo home run against Japan that claimed the first and only World Series title for Warner Robins.

Today the now 18 year old Dalton Carriker is still pretty good at baseball. In fact he inked a deal with Wallace State in Alabama Wednesday to play middle infield for the Lions. Carriker has been a 4 year letterman for the Houston County Bears and last year hit .350 for average along with 3 home runs for the Region 1-AAAAA champs. But even on Carriker's day, he shared big hopes on the upcoming season.

"I love my guys. I love my players", says Carriker. "We've worked hard, we're a team and really looking forward to playing this year. We want to get a lot of wins and make a deep run in the playoffs and put the speculations, behind us. We want to move forward, work hard and win some ball games."

Head Baseball Coach Jason Brett says the things that make Dalton great is his leadership among many other intangibles. Carriker wants to major in pre medicine.

One noteworthy factoid about Wallace State, it helped develop current Atlanta Braves reliever Craig Kimbrell, who competed at the Alabama junior college just a few years ago.
