Heritage Apartments in Perry caught, on Ashley Drive, fire Monday morning and is the second fire at the complex this year.

Perry Fire Chief Joel Grey said the call came in at 10:18a.m., and he called for immediate backup from the Warner Robins Fire Department because of the size of the blaze.

Grey said a single story building that contained 7 units and the complex office was on fire. Four units in the building were totally engulfed, and the building was a total loss Grey added.

It took 2 and a half hours to completely put out the fire and Chief Grey said the cause of the fire was not suspicious.

Firefighters responded to a fire there in February of this year as well.

Chief Grey says no one was injured, but one tenant did lose a pet cat in the fire. Another neighbor was treated for a smoke-related asthma attack.
