Northside Prepares for Rematch with Tucker

The rain did not stop the Northside Eagles from practicing on Wednesday.  Head Coach Kevin Kinsler moved practice into the gym.

Although space was limited, the Eagles still got valuable work in before their biggest game of the season.  Friday, Northside will host Tucker in the quarterfinals of the playoffs.

Kinsler says his team is not seeking revenge for the one point loss in the semifinals last season to the Tigers.  Instead, they are focused on getting a ring.

"We know we've got to come out here and work," said senior running back Curtis Martin.  "We feel like they stole something from us last year.  This isn't all about revenge.  We just want to win a ring this year."

Since last season, Kinsler says Tucker has not changed much.

"They've got athletes at just about every position.  You know they've got a great tradition.  There's a lot of similarities between us and them.  They've got a lot of playoff experience."

Kickoff is set for 7:30 Friday at McConnell-Talbert Stadium.
