Car Show Pumps Proceeds to Ga. Transplant Foundation | News
The first annual Chip'n Away at Heart Disease Cardiac Car Show was an all day event in Warner Robins.
The parking lot of the Houston Mall was the stage for proud owners to showcase their cars, trucks, and bikes.
Out of about 60 cars, one truck comes alive. But these classics usually lay dormant as part of the first annual Chip'n Away at Heart Disease Cardiac Car Show.
"All car shows we go to helps support causes but Coach Malone is a really inspirational friend," says Lynne Watts from Warner Robins.
Organizer Chip Malone supports a cause that's very close to his newly mended heart. Malone received a heart transplant two years ago on November 3rd.
"Got my chest cracked twice, 58 procedures. God has really blessed me," says Malone.
According to the Center for Disease Control, heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women.
"What we're trying to do, we're trying to give back to the community to bring awareness to the community about heart disease," says Malone.
Every candy colored car submitted into the car show will benefit the Georgia Transplant Foundation.
