21-Year-Old Houston Co. Man Gets 20 Years in Prison | News

A 21-year-old Warner Robins man was sentenced Wednesday to a minimum of 20 years in prison. 

Brett Donald Justice, 21, was convicted on a host of criminal charges, including aggravated assault, four counts of burglary, arson, multiple counts of entering auto to commit theft, and criminal damage to property. 

According to a Wednesday news release, the charges were from a summer 2011 crime spree, which included Justice burglarizing Northside High School and a Kohl's department store. Authorities say he also poured gas on a truck and set it on fire. And he was accused of pointing a gun at a Houston resident who confronted Justice for breaking into his car.

In July 2011, Justice led Houston County deputies on a car chase through Houston and Bibb counties. At the time, Sgt. James Middlebrooks told 13WMAZ that Justice was considered a "person of interest" in two arsons, two burglaries and as many as 20 car break-ins.

Judge George F. Nunn, Jr., accepted the guilty plea and sentenced Justice to 30 years with the first 20 years to be served in a Department of Corrections facility.

District Attorney George Hartwig said, in the news release, "We hope this sentence brings some closure to his many victims."
