Captain Randall "Randy" Mullis with the Warner Robins Fire Department died Tuesday morning, September 11th from complications after a heart attack.
According to Rachel Crowell with fire administration, Captain Mullis retired this past July 27th - exactly 25 years to the day when he first began fighting fires in Houston County.
Crowell says Mullis suffered a heart attack two weeks after his retirement and never really recovered.
Crowell also said Mullis had such a passion for fire protection and will be truly missed by the department.
Warner Robins Fire Chief Robert Singletary says the flags at all fire stations are flying at half staff for Captain Mullis and will remain there until after his funeral.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 15th at 10am at Southside Baptist Church in Warner Robins.
