Houston County Organizations Register Voters For November
News

The Board of Social Concern of the Sixth Episcopal Region held a voter rally Saturday afternoon  to try to register potential November voters at Warner Robins C.M.E.

Organizers said they registered 10 to 15 people Saturday afternoon which was not as many as they would have liked, but say this is just the beginning of their efforts.

"That let's us know that we have a lot of work to do here in Houston County we have to educate people and we have to bring new voters into the fold and we have to mobilize them into action," said Fenika Miller.

The event was non-partisan, however one of the volunteers that helped out was from Middle Georgia Democratic Women.

At the Houston County Republican Party Headquarters off Watson Boulevard, Aaron Hufstetler, the Chairman, said they will be focusing on voter turnout. They will be making phone calls, keeping voter registration forms in their office, and canvassing neighborhoods.

"This is the most important election in our lifetime, this one really is, so we got to keep our people motivated to make sure it's the one that's going to vote for Mitt and to get out and vote because turnout is the key," said Hufstetler.

Georgians have until October 9th to register to vote for November.
