Warner Robins' Independence Celebration
News

Hundreds lined up outside McConnell-Talbert Stadium  in Warner Robins to get a prime seat for the annual Independence celebration.

Bobby Hines says he waits in line every year for the concert, but this year was extra special because it fell on his birthday.

"We did wait for about thirty minutes it wasn't too bad," says Hines.

The concert opened up with the national anthem and a fly over.
It's something Linda Gunter enjoys watching every year.

"We come every year on the Fourth of July. It's wonderful, and I hope it continues, because I don't want this one to be the last," says Gunter.

Janet Dees says she's been joining the celebration for fifteen years and says she doesn't want the party to end.

"This is a wonderful community event. It brings out lots of families, and we just need things for families to do in Warner Robins."

Concert goers watched Angie Johnson perform her Youtube hit.

"This is something we do every Fourth.  As long as there is one, we will be here.  I love it, I love this country," explains Earl Strobush, who says he served twenty-eight years in the United States Air Force.

In addition to performances from the U.S. Air Force Reserve Band and country music star Josh Turner, the evening featured a fireworks display to cap off the festivities.
