Warner Robins Council Delays Budget Vote Again
News

For the second time in a week, Warner Robins city council put off a vote on next year's budget.

This time, it was due to a typo.

Council members noticed that the total budget figure was listed correctly in one part of the budget document -- $35.7 million -- but was wrong in another -- $35.8 million

Council members say they'll get the document fixed and schedule another vote for next Thursday, June 28.

The council and Mayor Chuck Shaheen also compromised on his plan to create public relations position, which would cost the city $43,000 a year.

The council agreed to pick a current city employee, give that person the public-relations duties and pay them an extra $15,000.

Shaheen called that a good compromise.

State law requires the city to approve a budget by July 1st.
