Man Dies After Fight in Warner Robins

A Hawkinsville man died Wednesday, two days after being allegedly beaten with a piece of wood.

The Fort Valley man accused of beating him now faces possible homicide charges, according to Warner Robins police.

They say 45-year-old Robert Lee Gill Jr. is in the Houston County jail, charged with aggravated battery.

The Houston District Attorney's Office will decide whether to upgrade the charges, says police spokesman Tabitha Pugh.

She says around 6 p.m. Monday, officers were called to a fight at Cascade International at 104 Industrial Park Blvd.

They found 41-year-old Terry Lynn Carson unconscious with serious head injuries.

He was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia, where he died about 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Police took out a warrant for Gill and he surrendered Tuesday.

Pugh says the two men had an ongoing dispute, but police don't know what they were fighting about.

Anyone with information on the case can call Warner Robins police at 929-6911.
