New Goodwill Center Opens in Warner Robins | News
It's a department store atmosphere where bargains and discounts are not hard to come by.
Sandra Wade says she's always depended on Goodwill to save her a few dollars and the opportunity to give.She says she drops off donations several times a year.
"You can go to the Goodwill and get excellent prices and nice quality and sometimes, many times with the tags still on it."
President and CEO of Goodwill Central Georgia Jim Stiff says the new Goodwill Donation Center and retail store on Lake Joy Road was needed to meet the demand of shoppers and donors like Wade.
"We've been studying in Middle Georgia where we wanted to have a permanent long term retail location. The Lake Joy area looked like for the next ten years would be a great growth community," said Stiff.
Wednesday, employees had their hands full during the center's grand opening working busy lines and sorting through donation items. Vicki Mills, Director of Marketing and Sales says with more than 100 thousand donors from Houston County last year, Goodwill is on the right track for continued success.
"It's our newest and nicest store and our largest donation center so we're really excited to be here. The folks of Houston County have really embraced Goodwill and we really appreciate that," said Mills
The new Lake Joy facility in Warner Robins is 26 thousand square feet and employs 21 people.
