Centerville Man Dies in I-75 Crash after Police Chase
A Centerville man Tuesday night died in an accident in Houston County, after he led Macon Police on a car chase.
An e-mail from Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright says 44-year-old Joseph Eric Moore was driving a Chevrolet pick-up truck on I-75 south around 9:20 p.m., trying to escape Macon police, when a GSP trooper joined the chase.
Wright says at the 137 southbound mile marker, the trooper's vehicle and the pick-up truck hit, causing the truck to run off the road, strike a guardrail and overturn. Moore died in the crash.
