Veterinarian Brings Christmas to Middle Ga. Foster Kids
News

Some kids celebrated Christmas a little early at a veterinarian hospital in Warner Robins on Saturday.

Kids from Bibb, Twiggs, Houston, and Peach counties received over 300 Christmas presents from Santa and his helpers.

It was all part of the Doctor Hodges It Takes a Village Foundation. The foundation helps mentor youth who are looking to start their own business.

About 50 foster kids and their families received gifts.

Dr. Vernard Hodges, who started the program, says that his favorite part is seeing the kids reaction.

"I wanted to make sure that other kids had an opportunity to experience what most of us feel on Christmas morning when we walk down the stairs and pick up our gifts," said Dr. Hodges.

The kids were selected through DFACS, social workers, and school counselors.
