Warner Robins voters elected two new council members Tuesday night in a runoff election.
Carolyn Robbins won the Post 2 city-wide seat. She received 64 percent of the vote with 1,355 votes. Opponent Tim Thomas received 36 percent with 757 votes.
Robbins will replace council member Tom Simms Junior. Simms did not run for reelection.
Robbins said, "It's very exciting. It's like I said earlier, the reason I'm here is the people in this room." She was standing with a large group of supporters at a post election party at Meldino's Pizza on Commercial Circle in Warner Robins.
Mike Brashear won the Post 4 seat with 71 percent of the vote or 303 votes. He defeated opponent Gene Harrington who received 29 percent of the vote with 124 votes.
Brashear will take the seat of Bob Wilbanks, who also did not run for reelection.
Brashear got very emotional after the last votes came in, saying he was "overwhelmed." He talked about the show of support from his friends and family, after watching the race results come in at Warner Robins City Hall.
Brashear said, "You have to stop and reconsider and give thanks to God for your support foundation."
Both Brashear and Robbins expressed disappointment about the low voter turn-out in the runoff.
Brashear said, "I feel that it's every American's right to get out and vote. When we give up that right, we are giving up our rights as Americans."
Mike Davis was elected to the Post 6 seat during the general election. He defeated the incumbent, John Williams.
Davis, Brashear, and Robbins will be sworn-in in January.
