Train and truck collide in south Houston | News
No one was injured when a 18-wheeler collided with a train Wednesday morning in south Houston County.
It happened around 10:20 on the Highway 247 spur near Sand Bed Road.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the truck driver said the accident happened after his brakes failed.
He said he swerved to avoid a row of trucks ahead of him, crossed the road and ended up striking the train.
Norfolk Southern Railroad says that caused some minor damage to one of the rail cars.
The section of roadway was closed for about three hours, while the truck was removed. It was carrying frozen chicken.
