Home giveaway for central Georgia veteran | News
A realty group in Warner Robins is helping to open new doors for a military veteran in central Georgia. They're giving away a three bedroom, two bathroom house valued at more than $50,000.
Realtor Blair Myers says it's part of the "Roofs for Troops" program. Bank of America and Nehemiah Corporation fix up foreclosed homes around the country and sell them at low prices to military veterans. However, Myers says this home is different.
"Every 10th, 20th home, they'll take that home and instead of putting in the 'Roofs for Troops' program, they will put it in this full donation to a veteran program," says Meyers.
The winner of the home giveaway will receive the fully renovated house in Warner Robins at no cost. All veterans have to do to enter the giveaway is send their stories to Myers' group by July 30th. His team will narrow the pool down to the top finalists. Then, Bank of America and Nehemiah will select the winner.
The keys will be handed over to the winning veteran in August.
