Warner Robins celebrates public safety
News

The Warner Robins Independence Concert was a big success, and to thank those involved Mayor Randy Toms held an appreciation day for two public safety departments.

The day of appreciation was held at fountain park in Warner Robins.

Police competed against the firefighters in a friendly softball game, then everyone chowed down on some barbecue.

Mayor Toms says public safety departments are a vital part of the community.

"They have it deep in their hearts. It's not just a matter of them coming to a job, but it's in their hearts to do what they do and they do a great job here in Warner Robins," Toms says.

Mayor Toms served as a fire fighter for 27 years.
