Bonaire Middle students sing in Washington D.C.

A few students got a lesson outside the textbooks in the District of Columbia.

Chorus students at Bonaire Middle School took a trip to Washington D.C.

While there, they showed America that they've got some talent, by singing at the World War II Veterans Memorial that celebrated its 10th anniversary.

After their performance, the kids were able to talk to some of those who helped shape history and take some pictures with them.

The trip was also an educational opportunity by taking the students on tours of the historic museums and landmarks in the District.

The trip was sponsored by a company called American Musical Salute.

The group was presented a plaque commemorating their performance at the anniversary of the memorial.
