International City preps for Family Fun Day | News
The International City is gearing up for its first Family Fun Day. After having their Easter event rained out year after year, a new plan was formed.
Sponsored by the Warner Robins Recreation Department, they promise to bring activities for all ages.
They'll have a "Diaper Derby," a "Tot Trot" for the little ones, and a "Senior Stroll" for those just a tad older.
Tug-of-War challenges, horseshoes, and jump rope contests will be open for all.
Concessions will be open and they encourage families to bring their lawn chairs and blankets out to Tanner Park Saturday.
"Our focus is to get families out of the house, off the couch, put the cell phones down, put the computers down, and just spend a few hours together in the parks, because what better way to enjoy, meet new friends and enjoy your family and friends than in the park," says Ruby Holmes, Programs Director for Warner Robins' Recreational Department.
A car show was scheduled, but it had to be postponed, because they didn't have enough entries.
The International City's Family Fun Day is Saturday at Tanner Park on Carl Vinson Parkway from 9 am to 2 pm.
