Twins valedictorian, salutatorian at Northside High | News
If you think you have a rivalry with your sibling, check out this one.
Anna and Austin Maddox are fraternal twins, born five minutes apart.
Both are seniors at Northside High School in Warner Robins.
Austin is this year's valedictorian with a 99 grade-point-average. Anna is the salutatorian, or number two in the graduating class, with a 99.86 GPA. That's just four-tenths of a point behind her brother.
Anna said, "I'm not bitter about it. It's, hey, good for him. Two is pretty great, too."
Anna said they've had a friendly competition about most everything growing up, from their grades to who can make their bed the fastest.
Austin said his twin sister often teased him in high school, that she was going to get ahead of him in academics.
That never happened, but Austin said it's an honor that they both could take a top spot.
Austin said, "I thought it was just pretty neat, brother and sister number one and number two. I thought it was a nice ending to a good four years at Northside."
Austin took the academic championship of the two siblings, but both say Anna is the better athlete.
She's going to Samford College in Birmingham on a soccer scholarship, to study nursing.
Austin is still deciding if he will attend the University of Georgia or Georgia Tech. He said he wants to study business or engineering.
