There are five new names on Houston County's ballot for May 20.

Five candidates qualified to run in a special election for the countywide Post 7 seat on the Houston County board of education. The special election is being held because Dave McMahan resigned from the board.

Qualifying for the post ended at noon Wednesday.

The candidates are:

  • Tannya Duncan of Bonaire
  • Robbin Jackson of Perry
  • Andy Rodriguez of Warner Robins
  • Bryan Upshaw of Centerville
  • Doug Wechsler of Bonaire

Early voting for the election starts April 28, and April 21 is the last day to register.
