SR 96 detour for rail crossing work | News
Railroad crossing work will create a detour for a 9.2-mile stretch of Highway 96 Saturday.
That scheduled road closing happens at the intersection of Highway 96 and Highway 247 as well as Highway 96 and Highway87, according to a release.
That means people driving between Twiggs County and Houston County will have to make lengthy detours until the repairs are complete.
That's on Saturday, March 22 from 6 a.m. through 8 p.m.
Detour signs will be posted, suggesting drivers use Highway 87 to Cochran, Highway 26 to Hawkinsville and Highway 247 to Bonaire.
