Children honor Dr. Seuss

Do you like green eggs and ham? Do you like Sam-I-Am?

Children at Warner Robins Lindsey Elementary honored Dr. Seuss Friday.

The school's media specialist Chesann Thompson invited adults in the community to read Dr. Seuss books to students, in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday and the 17th annual Read Across America Day.

Read Across America Day is actually Sunday, March 2nd. Many schools will observe the day with similar celebrations Monday.

Readers from the community included Houston County Superintendent Robin Hines, Warner Robins Police Chief Brett Evans and 13WMAZ's Lorra Lynch Jones, among several others.

The Seuss character, Cat-In-The-Hat, visited the classrooms. Students also ate the famed "green eggs and ham" for breakfast.
