Houston County won't make up snow days | News
Houston County schools say they won't make up the five days missed recently due to snow, ice and cold weather.
That's according to a news release from the district.
The district scheduled a full 180-day calendar, so this leaves them with 175.
The state board of education Thursday left it up to local districts to decide, whether to make up days left by this year weather emergencies.
Bibb County schools missed seven days in all, says spokeswoman Stephanie Hartley.
She said no final decision has been made, but superintendent Steve Smith plans to ask the school board next week to make up two of those days, that would put Bibb's school year, at 171 days.
