Gas station robbery victim in critical condition

A Centerville gas station attendant shot during a robbery Wednesday night is in critical condition, police said.

A masked gunman entered Pure Gas Station, 820 Houston Lake Blvd., at 10:20 p.m. and demanded cash from the victim, Rohitkumar Patel, 38, a Centerville police news release states.

The robber shot Patel in the face with a semi automatic handgun before leaving the gas station with the money, police said.

Patel was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia where he remains in critical condition.

Judy Le talked to the store owner, Chanda Patel, who is no relation to the victim. She declined to go on camera.

But he did say she spoke to him today and it seems like he's improved.

Judy couldn't go inside the store because police were investigating. But Chanda Patel invited her to shoot video through the window.

Judy says she could see pools of blood where Rohitkumar Patel and footprints where somebody stepped in the blood.

Warner Robins police and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms are assisting Centerville police with the investigation.
