Lockdown Lifted at Russell Elem. in Warner Robins | News
A Code Red alert that went into effect Friday morning at Russell Elementary in Warner Robins has been lifted.
Beth McLaughlin, spokesperson with the school district said the students are now being allowed into the building.
A search by Warner Robins Police officers and the K-9 unit started searching after school employees reported seeing a suspicious man inside the school building.
The school at 101 Patriot Way and the surrounding neighborhoods were searched for any signs of the man.
Tabitha Pugh of Warner Robins Police says the man was seen around 7:30 Friday morning. He entered the building and then apparently left.
In a tweet, police described him as a black male, 25-30 years old, 5-feet-10 inches tall. He was wearing black pants and a green jacket. No further description was given.
So far, police are not describing any threat or weapon.
Pugh told 13WMAZ that the K-9 unit and police officers continue looking for the suspicious person, although the school building has been given the all clear.
