Preparation Begins for Warner Robins Fireworks Show | News
Bad weather kept the show at bay for weeks, but not for good.
Setup is under way for Warner Robins' third attempt at this year's fireworks display.
Tonight's show is at the Central Georgia Soccer Association fields. Crews started preparing the fireworks Friday morning.
Gates open at 8 pm for the show. The fireworks should light up the sky around 9:30 pm, immediately following the championship game in the Little League Southeastern Regional Tournament.
East coast pyrotechnics, out of South Carolina, is lighting the fuse.
Fred Cantrell set up, and broke down, July's attempts at a show. He says he is ready to finally put this display in the air.
"I think the fireworks show is about 22 minutes long. Hoping we're going to have a good time," said Cantrell. "Last few times it's gotten rained out, so hopefully, we'll get it in this time."
Patrons can park in the fields outside Perdue Primary and Perdue Elementary Schools off Cohen Walker Drive, or in the lot near the soccer fields by the Houston County Health Department. Handicapped parking will be outside the Department of Family and Children's Services.
Project chairman Allen Tatman says tonight's show is a family-friendly event.
Glass containers, alcohol and pets are prohibited, but guide dogs are allowed.
