A Northside High School football player is recovering at home after being shot in the back on Sunday. According to Warner Robins police spokeswoman Tabita Pugh, 17-year-old Austin Roberts was treated and released at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.
Northside head football coach, Kevin Kinsler says Roberts is a highly recruited defensive end. He is not expected to take the field during this week's game against Veterans High School.
Neighbors say the shooting actually happened on Wendan Way and the victim walked to the 400 block of Camellia Circle for help. They also tell us that the shooting happened when someone fired shots into the air during an argument.
