Thursday is Veterans Day, but officials from Warner Robins and Robins Air Force Base honored the troops a day early on Wednesday at the 2nd annual Pancake Flip.
Mayor Chuck Shaheen was amongst the officials who honed their flapjack flipping skills while cooking up the hotcakes and then tossing them to dozens of children waiting with over-sized plates.
Installation Commander Col. Carl Buhler says they cooked up the equivalent of 6,000 pancakes Wednesday.
But the event wasn't all about fun and batter--it was also about honoring those who serve.
"We wanted this to tie in to the Veterans Day weekend," says Buhler.
Buhler says the Pancake Flip is a long-standing Air Force tradition that started about 60 years ago.
