Save a Cup for Earth Day, Get Free Coffee

Conserve. Get free coffee.

In honor of Earth Day today, you can bring your travel mug to Starbuck's and get a free cup of coffee.

On any day though, you can bring your travel mug or tumbler to Starbuck's and receive 10 cents off your purchase, or you can order your drink "for here" and drink out of a non-paper cup.

Starbuck's Earth Day article says that 1.2 million people participated last year. That's a lot of saved paper cups! And that's just one day.

What if we used our travel mugs every day?

Are you buried in old computers, printers, VCRs or phones? And what about that drawer filled with cords, wires, circuit boards, plugs and chargers that you’ve been saving?

KWRB, Flint Energies and Happy Hour Service Center & Recycling have joined forces to provide a simple solution for you to discard of your old electronics. Hang on to them until Saturday, April 30, 2011 and dispose of them during E-Cycling Day (sorry, no televisions). Just bring them to the Happy Hour parking area, located in Warner Robins on North Young Avenue, for a one-day electronics recycling event 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

At the site, representatives of Atlanta Recycling Solutions, will be available to accept your electronics (with the exception of televisions) and answer any recycling questions you may have.

Organic… What does it really mean?

Organic… What does it really mean?

The term “Organic” has been used loosely in recent years, so I thought I would discuss what it really means and who can use it in the cosmetics, body and bath products..  First, the term organic cannot be used the same way as “All Natural” or “Natural.”

Organic is a term which is certified by the USDA National Organic Program.

The USDA-accredited organic certifying agent must certify the company before they can use the term “organic” and use of their symbol.
