2011-2012 New Student Registration


Registration for students new to Houston County schools will be held in July for the 2011-12 school year. 

Parents should register students at their zoned school.  School zones may be verified online or by calling the school. 

Zone maps are also provided on the HCBOE web page, http://www.hcbe.net/zoning.aspx

Dates for enrollment and required documentation are provided below.  School begins on Monday, August 1, 2011.

All Elementary Schools

Beginning Monday, July 18, 2011

8:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Parents are encouraged to register their children as soon as possible to provide a smooth transition and proper placement of the child. 

All Middle Schools

Beginning Monday, July 18, 2011

Memorial Day Ride to Andersonville

Memorial Day Motorcycle Ride to Andersonville, Hosted by US Military Vets Motorcycle Club (rain or shine). 

This is a free event and ride.

Lunch at 11:00, Kickstands up at 1:00. Follow us back to the US Military Vets Clubhouse, 201 Wyler Ave., Warner Robins, GA (behind Marble Masters on N. Davis Drive) for food, spirits, and entertainment.

Live band begins at 5:00.

Graduation Schedules, Expectations & Parking

The Houston County Board of Education 2011 graduation ceremonies will be May 27 and 28, 2011.  All five ceremonies will be held at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry in the Miller-Murphy-Howard Building.  Approximately 1,670 students will graduate. 


Guests are asked to help ensure that the ceremonies are dignified and enjoyable for all concerned.  Seniors, their families and friends should show respect for all graduates both before and after receiving diplomas.  The time for jubilant celebration is after the ceremony when students can enjoy the company of their families and friends.

Local Fencers Qualify for U.S. Nationals

Local Fencers Qualify for U.S. Nationals

Four members of the Warner Robins Fencing Society (WRFS) competed in Suwanee Georgia at the 2011 Southeast Section Qualifier to the U.S. Fencing Nationals.  The competition brought fencers from across the Southeastern U.S. to vie for one of the top 8 slots available in each event to represent their respective division  and the Southeast at the U.S. Nationals which will be held in Reno, NV June 30 - July 10, 2011.  Warner Robins Fencing Society entered four competitors in four events. In Men's Antonio Lewis-Ross, a senior at Southwest High School in Macon finish 16th.  Clinton Harrison, a Macon State freshman, placed 26th in the Men's Foil event.  Suzanne Thompson  of Warner Robins finished 8th in the Women's Epee event earning a slot for the Reno Nationals.
