Why You Need To Hire A Photo Organizer
Why You Need To Hire A Photo Organizer

Have you ever thought about hiring a photo organizer? You know, someone to take that jumble of photos in the box in the closet and make it make sense again. What about someone to help you figure out how to get all of your digital pictures combined into one place instead of on a variety of old hard drives, SD cards and online photo storage sites?  There is a group of people out there who love these kinds of challenges and we are called photo organizers. And I think you need to hire one.

You Already Have a Job

During the week you work 40-60 hours a week or maybe you chase 3 kids around the house all day. Then on the weekends you struggle to get all the chores and errands done. You just don’t have time to deal with the pictures even though you really want to.  Guess what? Working with your photos IS our job.

You Aren’t the Most Technological Person in the World

When it comes to digital organizing, does the technology scare you? There are so many options and things to think about. If you have a hard time doing more on a computer than typing an email and checking Facebook, you might want to hire a photo organizer who knows the ins and outs of digital photo organizing. And if we don’t know the answer to a technological issue, we have a great group of other organizers we can consult.

You Are Overwhelmed

Organizing boxes, bins and albums full of pictures can be really daunting. Just like saying “I’m going to get organized”, saying “I’m going to organize my photos” often causes people to get so overwhelmed that they stop before they even begin.  I’ve had clients tell me how anxious they become when they look at their unorganized pictures. Funny thing is I see look at the “mess” and see a fun challenge. That’s why hiring a photo organizer can be a great idea - we see things a little differently.

You Are Too Sentimental

You’ve tried, you really have. But every time you start to organize your photos, you take a stroll down memory lane and forget to come back. While a photo organizer loves to help you tell your family’s story, we treat your precious family photos objectively. We can quickly move through your photos and we leave the trip down memory lane to you.

Your Photos Are At Risk NOW

What happens to your printed pictures if your house burns down or the water heater bursts? What if your computer (which isn’t backed up) gets stolen or your iPhone goes for a swim in the pool? The longer you wait to organize and preserve your photos, the more at risk they are.  Most of your pictures are one of a kind. It would be terrible to lose them. They are physical manifestations of your memories.

So how do you find a photo organizer? Well, I’m a Certified Personal Photo Organizer but you can also visit the Association of Personal Photo Organizers and use their Find A Photo Organizer search to find a photo organizer near you.
