There's An App For That: Dropbox | Families
Dropbox is another app that I love. This is a cloud document storage system as well as a file sharing system. I use Dropbox almost every day for many, many things. I have used it to share files with my fellow co-chair of a school fundraiser. Currently I am sharing files with my web designer. I also use it to the back create a backup of my digital photographs from my phone (one of my favorite features BTW).
The photo downloading ability may be one of the handiest tools of the app. Download the Dropbox app to your phone and when you sign in, it will ask for access your pictures. Say yes and then it will ask you if you would like to back up your pictures and if you would like to do so whenever your connected to Wi-Fi. I would strongly suggest that you say yes. Now your pictures will be a little safer in the clouds and they will be accessible whenever you want them. Another great thing about Dropbox is that if you create a file on your computer and saved in Dropbox you can can access it from any computer, phone or tablet whenever you want.
Start by setting up an account at dropbox.com* and then then you can begin uploading files. I love that Dropbox as cloud-based, and it syncs across all of my devices including my computer. So be sure to also download the Dropbox app to your phone and tablet. When you join, you get two GBs of storage but by inviting other people to use the service which is free (for basic level) you can increase your storage capacity to up to 16 GBs. You can also purchase a larger storage package (100 GB +) starting at $9.99 per month.
*In full disclosure this is a referral link from my account. If you join, I get more space. Win-win!
