Accounting 'Glitch' Causes Paycheck Errors at Robins | Families
Robins Air Force Base officials said a "glitch" that caused some civilian employees to not be paid a full check is not an error exclusive to Robins.
"We are aware of the problem," said David Donato, Base spokesman. "It's not isolated to Robins Air Force Base."
Donato said the problem is due to an error with the Defense Civilian Pay System, "which coded some employees' time as furlough instead of regular," he stated in an e-mail Thursday to 13WMAZ.
"All of the affected employees have been notified," Donato said.
The Defense Accounting and Finance Service, which provides finance and accounting services for DoD civilian and military members, is working to correct the error as quickly as possible," said Donato.
"If not earlier, employees will receive their corrected pay in their paycheck distributed on Oct. 25," Air Force officials said.
