Get a Bird’s-Eye View Into the Robins Regional Chamber At Chamber 101

WARNER ROBINS, GA- The Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce would like to invite new members as well as established members to the exciting Chamber 101.  Sponsored by Jackie McLear, Pre-Paid Legal Services, the event will be held at the Chamber on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 8:00 a.m.

 

Chamber 101 provides an opportunity for new members to be introduced to the Chamber, for existing members to be refreshed and to give a jumpstart to members who desire to become more involved.  It’s also used as a tool for prospective members and anyone interested in learning more about joining.

Guests will have an opportunity to introduce themselves and their business to each other.  They will also have a chance to share information about their services or products and learn about what other members have to offer.  The Chamber will also highlight its latest efforts concerning Social Media.

Robins Regional Education Foundation Partners with Belk To Raise Funds

WARNER ROBINS, GA- The Robins Regional Education Foundation announces they will participate in Belk Fundraiser to raise money for various programs supported by the Robins Regional Chamber’s Educational Affairs Committee.  These include the L.V. Osigian Teacher of the Year Award and the STAR Student and Teacher Recognitions Program. 

 

Unity Conference Honors Women in Education

Unity Conference Honors Women in Education

The event will take place on March 5 at the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins.

The conference will last from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

HCBOE Names 17 Outstanding Women in Education

Seventeen women from the Houston County Board of Education will be honored Saturday, March 5, 2011, as recipients of the Outstanding Women in Education award. 

They will be recognized during the “It’s Time!” Unity Conference.  The conference will be held in the Century of Flight building at the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

The honorees will be presented awards from 2:00 p.m. to 2:35 p.m. and also recognized at a reception from 2:40 to 3:30 p.m.  Special guests include First Lady Sandra Deal and Becky Scott.   

 A total of 30 honorees were selected from across Georgia with nominees coming from not only Houston, but also Baldwin, Bibb, DeKalb, Fulton, Henry, Lowndes, Newton, Peach and Twiggs. 

Church Sponsors First Annual Morning Reflections of Women in the Bible

Higher Dimensions Worship Cathedral will host its First Annual Morning Reflections on Women of the Bible.

The event is scheduled for March 19 at 9 a.m.

Networking Opportunities At Chamber’s March Business After Hours

The Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce would like to invite established members, new members and the general public as our guests to the March Business After Hours. 

The event, sponsored by Middle Georgia Tile, will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at their facilities, located at 12106 GA Highway 247 (at Hwy 247 and N. Davis Drive) in Warner Robins.

Houston County Sharks Host State Basketball Tournament

The Houston County Sharks will host the 2011 State Wheelchair Basketball tournament Saturday, March 5, at Warner Robins High School. 

Eight teams will compete for the championship title beginning at 9:30 a.m.  The JV championship trophy will be presented around 4 p.m. by Superintendent Dr. Robin Hines.   

“Everyone is invited to come and cheer on the top eight wheelchair teams in the state as they fight for the title of State Champion,”  Christy Jones, area coordinator says.  “Our very own Sharks are currently ranked first in the Junior Varsity division.”     

The tournament game schedule is:

9:30 a.m. – JV Semi, Henry County Hurricanes vs. Houston County Sharks

11:20 a.m. – JV Semi, Fulton County YMCA Mustangs vs. Clayton Eagles

1:10 p.m. – Varsity Semi, Gwinnett Heat vs. Atlanta Wolf pack
