Robins Leadership Serves Thanksgiving Dinner

 

ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, GA. – Wynn Dining Facility is serving up a big Thanksgiving feast Thursday, and the serving will be done by Robins senior leadership, an annual tradition.

That's according to a Robins Air Force Base news release.

The holiday meal is open to all active duty members, reservists, retirees and their families.

 Guest chefs will serve food, carve turkey, ham and beef:

Col. Mitchel Butikofer, 78 Air Base Wing and Installation Commander, Col. Evan Miller, 402d Maintenance Wing commander, Col. Dean Worley, 461 Air Control Wing commander, Col. Henry Cyr, 461 Air Control Wing, vice commander, Col. Roger Johnson, 78th Mission Support Group commander,  CMSgt Patrick Bowen, WR-ALC Command Chief and CMSgt. Stephan Dolecki, 461 Air Control Wing Command Chief during the first sitting.

Local Bank Employees Donate Over $25K to United Way

Robins Federal Credit Union employees recently raised $25,650 for the United Way of Central Georgia.

The United Way of Central Georgia distributes donations from fundraising efforts among local organizations that support and strengthen Central Georgia communities. The services provided by these organizations help at-risk children, the homeless, senior citizens, victims of abuse, people with mental and physical disabilities, and many others.

“The United Way ensures that a wide range of human services are available to help people in ways that no single agency could. Robins Federal Credit Union is proud to support The United Way of Central Georgia, thereby supporting a number of organizations in our member counties,” John Rhea, President and CEO of Robins Federal Credit Union, said.

Lake Joy Elementary School Students Win Breakfast

 

HOUSTON COUNTY, GA – A group of Lake Joy Elementary School students have won a breakfast to celebrate their success with following the school’s 10 essential rules.  A meal will be served compliments of Waffle House on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, beginning at 8:40 a.m.

Lake Joy Elementary adapted 10 rules from Ron Clark’s book “The Essential 55.”  This book is described online as “an award-winning educator's rules for discovering the successful student in every child.”  Lake Joy Elementary School’s Essential 10 rules to follow:

 

Rule 1 – Be respectful.

Rule 2 – Be responsible.

Rule 3 – Support your classmates.

Rule 4 – Show good sportsmanship.

Rule 5 – Show gratitude.

Rule 6 – Take pride in appearance.

They hung the flag, had a speech, poem read and the trumpet was played.
