Chamber Dubs Dress You Up Formals March Business of the Month

WARNER ROBINS, GA- The Business of the Month Committee of the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce presented Dress You Up Formals with the March Business of the Month Award, sponsored by Ambassador Personnel.

Founded in 2005, by owner Rochelle Arias, Dress You Up Formals started as a home-based business and grew into a store front in 2009.

“Rochelle is an active volunteer throughout the Robins Region and the Chamber is proud to recognize this,” said Morgan Law, Chamber President.  “She is a dedicated small business owner with a family that supports her and the business 100% of the time.”

Local Celebrities to Play in Houston County Sharks Game Fundraiser

 

The Houston County Sharks will host its third annual local celebrity wheelchair basketball game, an exhibition fundraiser game. The Sharks will play the Houston County Guppies on April 16, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans High School.  

Tickets are $5 at the door.  Local celebrities will play against the school system’s junior varsity wheelchair basketball team. Guppies team members so far include Board of Education member Fred Wilson, Superintendent Dr. Robin Hines, Southside Baptist Pastor Dr. Jerry Walls, City of Warner Robins Mayor Chuck Shaheen, and high school and middle school athletic directors and coaches.

Singer and songwriter Louise Warren plays a show at The Cavern in Bonaire Friday at 6 p.m.

You may recognize her as the voice behind 13WMAZ's commercial, "This is Home."

Join Us For the Annual Family Business After Hours Event!

WARNER ROBINS, GA- The Robins Regional Chamber would like to invite established members, new members and the general public to the April Family Business After Hours.  This event, sponsored by Flint Energies and Sonny’s Real Pit Bar-B-Q, is for the entire family!  Family Business After Hours will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Flint Energies Member Center, located at 98 Carl Vinson Parkway.

Bring the entire family to take part in this annual tradition which began 8 years ago.  Enjoy great bar-b-q from Sonny’s as well as popcorn, snow cones and lots of fun!  There will be a rock-climbing wall, obstacle course, inflatables, spin art station and much more for the children.

WARNER ROBINS, GA- The Robins Regional Chamber’s Small Business of the Month Committee presented Hope Hicks, Program Services Coordinator for Houston County Habitat for Humanity, with the Outstanding Employee Award for March 2013.  The award presentation is sponsored by Spherion Staffing Services of Middle Georgia.

As Program Services Coordinator at Houston County Habitat for Humanity, Hope serves as the Volunteer Coordinator, leads Habitat’s Family Selection process and manages their Family Support Program.  Over the last year she scheduled over 500 volunteers who built one house and repaired three other homes.
