Former Northside Band Director Fired from Current Job | Education
Title (Max 100 Characters)
A former band director at Northside High School in Warner Robins accused of having sexual contact with a student at his current job is now unemployed.
Monday night, Colquitt County school board leaders held a public hearing to determine Paul Guilbeau's future with the school system, and the superintendent says the vote to terminate him was unanimous.
The 42-year-old band director was recently charged with sexual assault of a 17-year-old female student at a Moultrie hotel August 10th.
Colquitt Superintendent Dr. Samuel DePaul said to 13WMAZ, "It's a disappointing time for all involved, but we had to do what we had to do [...] and now, it's time to move on."
DePaul also said the school board only deliberated for about seven minutes before the members reached their decision.
Investigators are still looking into Guilbeau's past positions in Valdosta and at Northside High School in Houston County.
