Burglary Suspect Caught by Patrol in Warner Robins

Thanks to some patrol work, a man accused of breaking into and robbing a Warner Robins business is in jail.

According to a press release, police responded to Clean Control at 1040 Booth Road after their security alarm went off Sunday morning. Surveillance video at the business showed a man breaking in and stealing different items.

In the video the man was wearing a black shirt with a white design and dark pants. He was also recorded entering the building a few hours later.

The release says a short time later officers saw 43-year-old David Rogers walking down Foy Evans Drive, matching the description of the man seen breaking into Clean Control.

The officers arrested and charged him with two counts of burglary. He's currently in the Houston County Jail.

Houston County Man Guilty of Downloading Child Porn

A Houston County man was convicted Wednesday of eight counts of sexual exploitation of children after investigators found child pornography on his computer.

According to a release from the Houston County District Attorney's Office, it took a Houston County jury less than 45 minutes to convict Ernest Gregory Arthur, 53, after a two-day trial.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday.

In August 2009, investigators say they traced the computer's IP address to Arthur's residence.

When the sheriff's office executed a search warrant, they found child pornography movies on Arthur's hard drive and also movies he had burned onto DVDs.

Investigators said Arthur was sharing the pornography on a peer-to-peer computer network called Limewire.

Man Charged With Warner Robins Kidnap Attempt

A Macon man was arrested after police say he tried to kidnap a woman at a Warner Robins business last week.

Warner Robins police spokeswoman Tabitha Pugh says 27-year-old William Carpenter walked into the Master Cleaners on Russell Parkway with a gun last Thursday.

Pugh says Carpenter walked up to a female worker, threatened her with the gun, and demanded that she get into his car.

When she refused, Pugh says, Carpenter left in a dark-colored SUV.

The woman was not injured.

Carpenter was arrested and charged with criminal attempt-kidnapping, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

He's being held at the Houston County jail.
