Donate to a Good Cause at the December Business After Hours Event

The Robins Regional Chamber, along with several other chambers throughout the Robins Region will join together with Middle Georgia Technical College to host December’s Business After Hours Event. 

The event will be held this Thursday, Dec. 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Middle Georgia Technical College located at 80 Cohen Walker Dr. in Warner Robins.

Chamber members and non-Chamber members as invited to attend.  As admission, please bring a toy in support of Christmas for Kids.  The items will be given to the charity to benefit local children.

Join us for an opportunity to network with the impressive business community and local in the Robins Region.

Business After Hours is a monthly event sponsored by the Chamber’s Community Affairs Committee, chaired by Justin Ritchie, Cox Communications.

The Methodist Home for Children and Youth is more than a home for children, it is also a home for a host of children and family programs and services.

Kids Yule Love: Day 4 of 13 Days of Giving

Kids Yule Love is a non-profit organization founded in 1986 and its mission is to provide Christmas presents and a message of hope to the less fortunate children in the Middle Georgia area.

Kids Yule Love partners with businesses in the Middle Georgia area who either want to become a sponsor or a  Kids Yule Love drop point.  Kids Yule Love also serves people throughout the year with Baskets of Joy at Easter, Kids School Tools during the school year & the Smoke Detector Program.

Warner Robins Police to Manage Traffic for Parade

For the Warner Robins Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 4, the Warner Robins Police Department will provide traffic management.

The traffic enforcement will be as follows:

Road Closure: 9:30 a.m.- 12 p.m. at Watson Blvd. from Corder Rd. to North 6th St.

Detour Locations: 9:30 a.m.- 12 p.m. Traffic approaching the intersection Watson Blvd. and Corder Rd. will be reourted South on Corder Rd.

Traffic approaching the Watson Blvd. and North 6th St. will be rerouted North on North 6th St.

Vehicles will not have access to the parade route from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Funeral Arrangements Announced for Rep. Anthony Edward "Tony" Sellier

There will be two visitations held on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at the Byron Municipal Complex; the first beginning at 11a.m. until 2 p.m. and the second from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a Rosary service immediately following at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at St. Juliana’s Catholic Church in Ft. Valley, Georgia at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4.

Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made either to the American Cancer Society or a favored charity.

13 Days of Giving: Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Heart of Georgia serves children in Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Greene, Hancock, Houston, Jasper, Jones, Laurens, Monroe, Peach, Twiggs, Washington, and Wilkinson Counties.  

They have been providing help for community kids since 1953.   Children who have mentors go to school more often, get higher grades, get along with others better, and have higher levels of self esteem.

To help with this project you can volunteer to be a mentor, or donate holiday items for families.
